What is a sworn Turkish translator in Belgium?

A sworn translator is a professional listed in the national register of sworn translators, interpreters and translator-interpreters (RNEJ) maintained by the FPS Justice, after taking an oath before a Belgian Court of Appeal. Only this status allows them to produce a certified true translation of the original, bearing their signature, official stamp and now a qualified electronic seal. In practice, a translation produced by a simple Turkish-speaking bilingual person, however skilled, has no official value. Municipalities, the Immigration Office, the public prosecutor and the courts require a translation signed by a sworn translator listed in the RNEJ.
